Pestcicide residues in manure may cause damage to plants

Aminopyralid is a professional herbicide for use on grassland.  There has been a recent report that manure from livestock grazed on treated grassland may contain the herbicide, and if used on gardens or allotments could cause damage to ornamental plants and vegetables.

The Pesticide Safety Directorate (PSD) are urgently investigating this report.

Further information can be found on the PSD website at http://www.pesticides.gov.uk/garden.asp?id=2480 .

In addition, the manufacturer Dow Agrosciences Ltd has set up an advisory note for gardeners at http://www.dowagro.com/uk/grass_bites/faq/allotment.htm .

Always read the label.  Use pesticides safely.
